So I absolutely love the series That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime, and so does my roommate. I crocheted her a Rimuru with a party hat for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. Now I low-key want to create a collection of various sizes with ALL of his facial expressions! I mean they are all silly and great.

Stitches you need to know

  • mc – magic circle
  • sc – single crochet (I do that x single crochet stitch)
  • sc inc – single crochet increase
  • sc dec – single crochet decrease

Materials

  • Blue yarn (for the slime color)
  • Black yarn (for stitching the eyes)
  • crochet hook & needle

The type of yarn I use is a medium weight (4) yarn.

Row 1: Create a magic circle (mc) and 8 sc in the mc. (8 st)
Row 2: 8 sc inc (16 st)
Row 3: Repeat * 1 sc inc, 1 sc * 8 times (24 st)
Row 4: Repeat * 2 sc, 1 sc inc * 8 times (32 st)
Row 5: Repeat * 1 sc inc, 3 sc * 8 times (40 st)
Row 6: 2 sc, repeat * 1 sc inc, 4 sc * 7 times, 1 sc inc, 2 sc (48 st)

We are increasing by 8 each row to get a flatter bottom than increasing by 6 each row when you start to stuff it.

Rows 7-11: 48 sc (48 st)
Row 12: 6 sc, repeat * 1 sc dec, 14 sc * 2 times, 1 sc dec, 8 sc (45 st)
Row 13: 45 sc (45 st)
Row 14: 11 sc, repeat * 1 sc dec, 13 sc * 2 times, 1 sc dec, 2 sc (42 st)
Row 15: 2 sc, repeat * 1 sc dec, 11 sc * 2 times, 1 sc dec, 10 sc (39 st)
Row 16: 7 sc, repeat * 1 sc dec, 11 sc * 2 times, 1 sc dec, 4 sc (36 st)
Row 17: 3 sc, repeat * 1 sc dec, 7 sc * 3 times, 1 sc dec, 4 sc (32 st)
Row 18: Repeat * 6sc, 1 sc dec * 4 times (28 st)
Row 19: 1 sc, repeat * 1sc dec, 5 sc * 3 times, 1 sc dec, 4 sc (24 st)
Row 20: Repeat * 2sc, 1 sc dec * 6 times (18 st)
Row 21: Repeat * 1 sc dec, 1 sc * 6 times (12 st)
Row 22: 6 sc dec (6 st)

Stuff and shape, then close and weave in ends.

Use the black yarn to sew in the eyes! So I sewed the eyes and they cover rows 11-12 and are about 3 stitches apart from each other. You do not have to sew the same eyes I made since he has many facial expressions choose your fav!
